Drift Away is a 5 octave marimba solo about a man lost at sea, whose journey is at the mercy of the waves. The piece has three contrasting sections, marked by clear tempo changes in the music. Aimed at advanced-level players with proficiency in double laterals as well as mallet independence.
*Mostly playable on a 4.6 Octave Marimba, with just a few bars / bass notes that need to be moved up an octave.
