I am offering online and in-person (Manhattan, NYC) 1-on-1 lessons for percussionists who are looking for personalized comprehensive instruction on mallet percussion, snare drum, timpani, and music composition/theory. My lessons are ideal for intermediate-advanced players who have already begun their musical education, though I am open to enquiries for students of all levels.
Possible areas of focus include:
- General consultation
- Preparation for college/orchestra auditions
- Preparation for competitions, recitals
- Discussion/feedback on a work-in-progress musical composition/arrangement
- Feedback for mock auditions, audition tapes
Lesson Format and Expectations
I teach on Zoom or in-person (Midtown Manhattan, NYC), and students should come prepared with music that we have discussed beforehand. Students may also send in recordings before lessons in addition to playing live. I can recommend books and repertoire, and I will be available throughout the week if students have any questions. In the first lesson, I want to discuss the personal goals and interests of each student and how I can best help to achieve those goals. My only expectations for students are that they come prepared and willing to learn.
Scheduling and Payment
Lessons are scheduled weekly, on a previously agreed upon set time/day.
My rates are as follows:
60 Minutes, $90 USD
30 Minutes, $50 USD
I accept payment through Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal, to be paid after every lesson.
